DUDE. You guys you gius u guise you guys! I just saw Hey Ocean! (don't know? link ---> www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTk6eY… ) First off, Hey Ocean is phenomenal. Their sound is amazing and they deserve all the love & recognition in the world. Second, we were at a super small venue. Sitting in the front, Ashleigh Ball is smack dab in front of me, like 20ft away. So I'm, on the inside, freaking and trying to play it cool by not staring at her the whole time their playing.
Get this, their songs are super upbeat, yeah? So they invite us all to dance around like fools and FREAKING ASHLEIGH FREAKING BALL DANCED WITH US.

Obviously I could've died happy right then and there.

There were some moments throughout the night where she, David Vertesi and David Beckingham would talk to us between songs, so again, super pumped up about that.

And then after it was all said and done, they did a meet and greet. Of course, we were so lucky to hang out with these guys. And surprisingly enough, I actually didn't bring up ponies. This was for Hey Ocean! So we were talking about the music, how they got started, all that jazz.

And then Ashleigh pops the question, "How'd you hear about us."

I, of course, was wearing my AJ tee, and admitted my bronyhood. Ashleigh came back at me with some awesome convo about MLP. So yes, I was chatting it up with Ashleigh Ball about My Little Pony.

So because of this, if you're still with me at this point, I am working on a simple drawing inspired by said events. It'll be up soon I hope!

Okay, here's a theory. The jewel that Rarity gave to Spike in "Just for Sidekicks," while at first appearing practically worthless, turned out to be worth a lot LOT more. Of course, we jump to the conclusion that, by default, the other jewels that Spike has received, or any jewels seen before in the show, must stand at an obscenely over-inflated net worth. Naturally, this assumption can be drawn from the idea that there is a direct correlation between the breadth of an object  and the worth of that object.

HOWEVER, it is important to remember that this fact does not stand to be true in all cases. If we are to re-examine Rarity and her representation of the element of Generosity, it is quite possible to come to the conclusion that the jewel she gave Spike appeared to be worth more than at first glance. Perhaps this was a particularly rare jewel, deceivingly worthless due to it's size. This would explain how the CMC could have made such a ridiculously over-the-top purchase, not knowing the value of the jewel. This would also explain Spike's willingness to part with it being based in ignorance, (however, this brings into question his standings with Rarity, as it would seem appropriate for him to be unable to part with it, since it was in her possession originally). This also would relieve fans of this whole ludicrousness concerning jewels and their actual worth in Equestria.

All in all, based on this theory, Rarity still remains true to her elemental representation, jewels are not in fact an untapped source of revenue, and this one jewel was of a wealthier nature despite it's size.

If I do have some free time though, I'm got some other pony ideas that I'd really like to get started on. I've got this Gravity Falls mash-up that I really want to get on paper, so that'll probably be next! I can't wait for Winter Break; then I'll be able to draw next to a cozy fire and watch the snow fall

Well that'll give me something to do when I hit a dry spell with ideas! You all are so amazing with your views and faves, I had no idea what was going to happen, but thank you all who've been with me from the bumpy beginnings.

I'll be messing around with photoshop every now and again, but college is finally here and I'll be closing up shop for a little bit. Again, ya'll are the best and here's to season 3!

Working with the octavia/vinyl/sweetie belle thing is so time consuming. How can people just bust out a speed drawing that looks so awesome in like 30 minutes? Man, super props to those folks, Photoshop is kicking my butt.

But patience is a virtue, and my bro's been helping out so yay to him! I'd say go check out his work, but he wants to remain "mysterious" and doesn't want people to know we're related. He's so funny :3

Anyway, bear with me, this one should look better than the other Ps attempts, and I'm hoping to get it posted by the weekend. It'll probably be my last one for a while since I'll be going back to good ol' college and might not have a scanner on hand like last year. Anyway, hope your day goes spiffy and beautiful!
